The musicians

 

Raimund Moritz – tenor and soprano saxophone

Born in 1971 in Brühl/ Rheinl., he received his first clarinet and saxophone lessons there. As a result of his experience in the combo and big band field, he won several (soloist) prizes at Jugend jazzt NRW and became a member of the LJJO NRW.

This was followed by jazz saxophone studies with Hermann Schoonderwaldt, Ferdinand Povel and Jasper Blom at the Hilversums Conservatorium/ NL.
Tours with the Glenn Miller Orchestra and concerts as a member of the Nordwest Bigband, the Joe Dinkelbach Trio, the Bergmann-Moritz Quintet, as well as a program with “Art Of Duo” (together with Elmar Braß), led and lead him to various stages of German jazz clubs and concert halls.

He has taught at the Carl von Ossietzky University in Oldenburg, worked as a lecturer for the LAG Jazz Niedersachsen and teaches saxophone and clarinet at several music schools.

Michael Bohn – bass

Born in Lüneburg in 1988. Studied jazz and classical double bass at the University of the Arts Bremen and the Sibelius Academy Helsinki with Detlev Beier, Stefan Adelmann, Ville Herrale and Autti Lötjönen. Private lessons with Larry Grenadier, Marc Mühlbauer, Jussi Kamste and Sebastian Grams.

Collaboration with Verneri Poholja, Uli Beckerhoff, Matthias Nadolny, Charlotte Greve, Martin Classen, Wolfgang Bleibel, Ed Kröger and the Bremen Philharmonic Orchestra. Concert tours in Europe, Cameroon and Madagascar.
Bands: Fyrm, Liede-Bohn Duo, Conrad Schwenke Quartet, Simon Wallach Trio, Les 4 Fères, Rhapsduo.

 

 

Hannes Clauss – drums

Born in Würzburg in 1949, gained his first experience as a drummer in Dixieland and beat bands at the age of 16. Studied art at the Braunschweig State University of the Arts, graduating as a master student of Prof. R. Dörfler. Studied music at the universities of Hanover (guest student) and Hamburg, majoring in popular music/jazz.

Taught percussion at the Gesamthochschule Kassel and at the music schools in Oldenburg and Delmenhorst. Is a drum teacher at the Burghausen jazz course. Worldwide concert activity in clubs, concert halls and festivals. Several African tours with the Goethe Institute. Winner of the Phonoakademie 1980 and the JazzIn Prize of Lower Saxony for his artistic life’s work.
Curator of the Nord Jazz Festival Westerstede and various jazz series in Oldenburg. Currently curator of the GEHÖRGÄNGE series for improvised music/new music. Current bands: HCL-Ensemble, MACH, SLOT and CBMtrio. Various LP and CD releases. Nationwide exhibitions in galleries, art associations and museums.
